It all started in 1998 when we brought in a trailer load of clay chimeneas to our retail stores in Massachusetts. We weren't even sure if they would sell! Well, that was just the beginning. The chimeneas were a big hit locally and we began designing some of our own styles and accessories. Chimeneas took off fast and we began wholesaling to retailers and big box stores throughout the United States and abroad. In 1999 we started selling clay chimeneas online. Unfortunately, they were bulky and fragile and about 20% of the units we shipped broke in transit. We refined our shipping methods and continued shipping clay chimeneas and added cast iron chimeneas to our offerings. In 2003 when clay chimenea sales slowed due to the cost of packaging and shipping as well as increased availability via large retailers such as Walmart and Home Depot we decided to drop clay chimeneas from our online product line. Five years later our cast iron chimeneas continue to sell very well online and we still import high quality clay chimeneas for our retail stores in Massachusetts. I have to admit that that first trailer load of clay chimeneas was a HUGE risk! I had only seen a chimenea once and wasn't even sure anyone else would think it was as cool as I did. What the heck would I have done with 440 clay chimeneas if they didn't sell? Today we continue to enjoy selling our chimeneas.
